Lena Palermo- BFA Music Theatre, B.Ed Vocal Music & Drama, Juilliard School NYC - Conducting.  Lena has performed professionally as a singer/dancer/actor, across Canada & the United States.   Her on-camera work includes commercials, TV and movies.  In addition, she has been music director, choreographer and/or director for hundreds of productions with both children and adult casts.  Her performing arts teaching experience spans seventeen years in acclaimed schools and professional theatre company programs.  Recent Toronto theatre credits include Annabelle in Utah’s Crying, Sister Robert Anne in Messugah Nuns,  Miss Stacey in Anne of Green Gables, The Wicked Witch in Oz Recalled and Gymnasia in A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to The Forum . Other favourites include Sally Bowles in Cabaret and Hildy in On The Town.  Lena’s past students have been in We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia, American Academy Company and other Professional Companies in the U.S . and Canada.  Star Potential Studios was created by Lena to allow other passionate performing arts students the opportunity to create, grow and shine like a star!
Steve Ivings - Juno Award Nominee Steve Ivings is a comedian, actor, singer, writer, director, producer and impressionist. For over forty years he has performed extensively in Canada and the United States on cruise ships, in nightclubs, at corporate functions and on television. Steve has written, directed, produced and performed in over twenty multi-themed variety shows as well a number of stage plays and has appeared in productions of The Odd Couple, Barefoot in the Park, Arsenic and Old Lace, Noises Off, Brigadoon, Anything Goes and Mame. He is a popular after-dinner speaker and has performed on hundreds of radio and television commercials. Steve has also spent many years teaching a variety of performing arts classes from Improvisation to Film Acting to Stand-up Comedy. His wealth of knowledge and experience, as well as his ability to communicate and educate, make him a great asset to Star Potential Studios.
Eliza-Jane Scott - BFA Acting - University of Windsor. Eliza-Jane has an extensive list of professional theatre credits including the Mirvish production and the 1st National US tour of The Producers. Her most recent stage appearances have been the role of Pam in The Full Monty with Stage West and Woman 1 in Elegies produced by Acting Upstage.  In addition to live theatre, Eliza-Jane has many film and television credits. Star Potential Studios is thrilled to have her expertise on faculty.
Danika Czubak - Danika is delighted to be teaching her second year of students at Star Potential Studios, and is looking forward to passing on all she has learned from five years as a professional actress. She has appeared in various TV shows such as ‘Psych’, 'City Commando' and ‘Dual Suspects'. Danika has also appeared in national commercials for Fitness on the Go and Maple Leaf Diamonds. She studied stage acting at Ryerson University before relocating to Vancouver, BC and discovering her love for film at Vancouver Film School.
After graduation from the Acting Program at VFS, Danika produced and performed in the play “Sunday on the Rocks”, directed by Jim Bates at the Havana Theatre. The following summer, Danika took on her first film producing project, a horror/dark comedy feature: ‘Howard and Betty’. She has also produced and acted in a short film called ‘Karma Baby’ and a film for the Real Estate Institute of BC entitled ‘The Real Neil’.
Danika includes singing, modeling and dancing among her many skills and talents. She also drives motorcycles, cooks a mean tofu curry, and is a writer of screenplays and short films.
This year, she will be teaching Primary Musical Theatre, Sr. Musical Theatre and Acting for Film at the studio, and looks forward to seeing some familiar faces as well as some new ones!
Jade Douris - a Toronto-based actress and dancer whose stage credits include Romeo and Juliet (Theatre Centre), Grease (Bluma Appel Theatre), Turks and Infidels (Jane Mallet Theatre), Macbeth (Berkeley Street Theatre). She has many years of extensive training in classical and contemporary acting, spoken-level singing, both Russian and Cecchetti techniques of ballet, as well as ballroom and other contemporary styles of dance. Training includes Ryerson Theatre School (Acting), Upper Canada Repertory Conservatory, Etobicoke School of the Arts, Kate Ashby Academy, Second City Training Centre, Falconer Abraham Studio, Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance, Art of Dance Academy.
Stacey Gonder - With over 24years of dance experience, Stacey is a successfully established instructor, performer, choreographer and adjudicator. She is currently on staff at various schools in the Greater Toronto Area and has taught many exciting classes with The Toronto District School Board. She has taught with the Canadian National Ballet School and their "Dance in Schools" program in Durham Region. Stacey is also known to lead high energy and innovative workshops as a guest choreographer/teacher for various studios and events, in her fun, funky and unique style.
Jenny Pullon - Jenny is originally from England where she trained with the Northern Ballet Theatre and then went on to graduate from the Northern Ballet School in the Musical Theatre and Jazz program. She enjoyed dancing and working on music videos, television and backing dancing in England and then around many parts of the world as a dancer on Carnival Cruise Lines. With Carnival, Jenny was selected to open new shows on two ships where she was given the opportunity to work directly with the choreographers in Las Vegas. Since moving to Toronto, she has been thrilled to use the knowledge she has gained in her performing to teach and choreograph, as well as performing herself when the opportunity arises.
Laura Caswell - American Musical and Dramatic Academy (New York City), Masters in Performance through Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, England. Laura has been teaching all types of performance for nearly ten years including dance, improv, musical theatre and vocal music. Along with Star Potential she teaches school workshops through the Living Arts Centre and at other studio programs in the Brampton Area. She has starred on stage in shows throughout Canada and Europe including "42nd Street", "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown", "Sweeney Todd" and "Wizard of Oz". She has also choreographed for professional plays and musicals and is working towards becoming a musical theatre director.
Daniel Birnbaum - graduate Sheridan College Music Theatre Performance Program- Performance credits include Oliver (Princess of Wales Theatre), The Music Man (Disney), Brigadoon/Grease (Theatre Sheridan), and Original Canadian Cast Pinkalicious (Vital Theatre New York). Daniel teaches fitness and dance for various companies across Toronto and the GTA including: CharActors Theatre Troup, LEAP Canada, All Together Now Entertainment, City Youth Players and is a guest adjudicator at George Brown College. Daniel is excited to bring both his passion for fitness and dance to Star Potential Studios.
